By now you know I have an obsession with Tunisian Crochet and texture. I do it every opportunity I can. So when Arunima asked be to be part of the blanket CAL this year, I jumped on it. I searched high and low for a stitch pattern that would be a challenge but still achievable. Enter The New Tunisian Crochet: Contemporary designs from time-honored traditions by Dora Ohrenstein. I’ve had this book for a while and I’ve experimented with some of the stitch patterns. The stitch pattern is modified to fit a 12″ x 12″ square, perfect for putting into a blanket.

The Tunisian Blanket CAL 2021 is a year long CAL, with 24 designers from all over the world taking part. The CAL starts on January 6th 2021 and ends on November 24th 2021. Every two weeks a new square by a different designer will be launched at 10 AM Central Time. The Tunisian Blanket CAL is the perfect way to try new patterns, techniques and stitches in Tunisian crochet.

The Tunisian Blanket CAL is organized by Arunima of Knitter Knotter. Knitter Knotter is a blog specializing in Tunisian crochet tutorials and designs.

  1. This is a very fun square – thank you! Do you recommend binding off in slip stitch purl-wise since the majority of the square is TPS? I’ve enjoyed stitching this. Thanks again
